When thinking of learning to drive most people think of taking a course of lessons spread out over a period of time. Whilst it is true that most people do learn this way, there is an alternative: the Intensive Driving Course.
These courses usually last between one and two weeks and enable the candidate to make rapid progress through the syllabus. Indeed, provided you have already passed the Driving Theory Test, it is possible to arrange your Intensive Course to coincide with a Practical Driving Test.
Intensive Courses are very popular for those people who want to learn to drive during work or school holidays, or before moving to a new location. We even provide Intensive Courses for holiday-makers and visitors to the Isle of Wight on a regular basis. If the idea of an Intensive Course with The Way Ahead appeals to you then it is important to arrange an assessment driving lesson. This usually consists of a two hour driving lesson which has two main purposes:-
First, it enables the instructor to assess your existing driving skills, if any, and thus advise the length of course to suit your own individual requirements.
Secondly, it gives you the opportunity of getting to know the instructor and car, and thus decide whether an intensive course is for you.
Intensive courses are not suitable for everyone. A more popular route is to take weekly driving lessons whilst studying for the theory and hazard perception test. Once done the practical test can be booked and a course of lessons arranged to coincide with the test.
